CET®

Longer lateral sections push the torque limits of standard API connections. The CET® connection design provides increased torque with the addition of an optimized secondary torque shoulder. The resulting balanced connection has reduced internal stress at greater torque loads than any other high torque drill pipe connection. For example, CET®43 delivers over 31,700 ft-lb of torque with a 3″ ID, and 100,000 lb more elevator capacity than a standard 4-1/2″ slim-hole assembly with a 5 3/8″ OD connection.

On 5-1/2″ drill pipe, the CET®54 connection reduces drilling time through higher ROP, lower pressure drop, more torque, more weight on bit (WOB) and higher flow rates. On 5″ drill pipe, CET®50 offers the same benefits without racking board modifications, using the rig's own handling tools.

On 4-1/2″ drill pipe, CET®43 offers a faster spud-to-TD option: it replaces the traditional combination of 5″ NC50 and 4″ high-torque strings and cuts the time spent laying down pipe.

On 2-7/8″ drill pipe, CET®24 allows faster, deeper drill-outs and workovers on extended-reach laterals.

The CET® design uses API thread forms that allow deeper stabbing, maximizes landing threads and reduces costly repairs while minimizing trip time. When repairs are required, the design minimizes tool joint loss, further extending the life of the string.
